For those who will be stuck in their homes during the winter storm we will be having, don't look at this as time to be upset. Instead, take this time to really enjoy your family and get in some quality time with them.

Here are some of my picks for times like this when I can have a nice big bowl of gumbo and watch some of my favorite movies. These are my favorites all year long. Just in case you've never had a chance to watch them, you may want to get a little familiar with them.

Friday -  I love all three Friday movies. Obviously, with being on the inside and not being able to move around like we'd like to, why not check out a trilogy of movies that will have you laughing from beginning to end? With characters like Dae Dae, Craig, and Smokey, you can't go wrong at all.

Cannonball Run - I remember watching this movie when I was a kid several times and laughing like crazy. It's a race of all races and features everyone from Dom Deluise, Mel Tillis, to Burt Reynolds. I just remember the melee that ensued when all they wanted to do was win, and the competition was hilarious.

Judas and The Messiah - This movie is about how trust can really sometimes get you in a pickle. It follows the rise of Chairman Fred Hampton and how his trust in William O' Neal, who was an informant for the FBI, contributed to the death of Fred Hampton. The movie is not for the faint-hearted, but it is a real story and should be considered.

Groundhog Day - Who doesn't remember this classic starring Bill Murphy? I remember thinking just how frightful it would be to wake up each day and repeat it all over again, all because of that old pesky groundhog. The movie is a classic and if you need a laugh, play it loud and get prepared to laugh hysterically.

This should get you through at least the two days, as you may want to pull out some board games and really bond with the kids. Again, be careful if you have to leave the house, and take time to really enjoy what may be a little white snow in Lake Charles
