As we sit here on this Tuesday morning, Tropical Storm Nicholas strengthened into a hurricane overnight and made landfall in Texas.  Since then, Nicholas has been downgraded to a tropical storm and has slowed down to a crawl basically starting to stall out.

The new track however has shifted more and now it looks like it is going to take a right and head East and parallel Interstate I-10 and come right toward us.

Our friends over at KPLC Tv Ben Terry and Wade Hampton who we talk with on the air through these storms just posted on Facebook the new track.  Ben asked can you believe it and yes we can Ben.

Here is the latest track.

So that is where we sit at the moment. It looks like the worst is yet to come with flooding rains as Nicholas looks to basically move slowly over Lake Charles and Southwest Louisiana.

We also have learned that there has been an alert issued for part of Cameron and Calcasieu Parishes for a threat of extreme risk of excessive rainfall that could result in life-threatening flash flooding by the Weather Prediction Center.

We will keep you updated online and on our mobile app.
