As Louisiana faces a rare winter storm with dangerously cold temperatures and inches of snow, local officials around the state are taking action to keep residents safe.

Cold Weather Advisory: Bitter wind chills are expected tonight and into the overnight hours.
Winter Storm Warning: In effect until midnight Wednesday.
Extreme Cold Warning: Starts Tuesday at 6 p.m. and lasts through Wednesday at 9 a.m.
Stay informed and prepared as temperatures plummet into the night! If you need to be out on the roads, make sure it’s for essential or emergency reasons only. In the air of caution and public safety mandatory curfews have been issued in the following Parishes:

Ascension Parish:
Mandatory curfew from 6 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 21, to 6 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 22.
Iberville Parish:
Curfew in place from 6 p.m. Tuesday to 6 a.m. Wednesday. Travel is limited to essential reasons only.
Livingston Parish:
Curfew from dusk Tuesday to 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 22. Emergency and essential traffic only, including work-related travel.
