Nicki Minaj Shares Title and Release Date for Fourth Album
Nicki Minaj took the 2018 Met Gala by storm in New York City on Monday night (May 7) by announcing the release date of her fourth studio album, which will be named Queen.
The highly anticipated project is welcome news for her committed fan base who have been riding high on the release of her two new singles "Barbie Tingz" and "Chun Li," and it now appears more music is on the way soon for Nicki. Donning a daring ombre red gown, she also shared the album will be dropping on June 15.
At the extravagant annual event, Nicki revealed to the cameras what many have been wondering for weeks. "This is a big night for me because I just let the world know that my album is coming on June 15 and it's called Queen. And I can't wait," she said.
Needless to say we're ready for a new project from the queen herself. She'll have her fair share of competition for her chosen release date, though—her former boo Nas is slated to drop a new album on the same day. Kanye West's solo and collaborative album with Kid Cudi are both reportedly dropping that week, and Drake teased fans with the release date for his new album Scorpion as simply June 2018.
This year's Met Gala has been a big one all around for hip-hop—2 Chainz also used the occasion to propose to his long-time partner on the red carpet, who said yes.
