UPDATE: On Wednesday (April 3), Nielsen Music told USA Today that Nipsey Hussle's major label debut album, Victory Lap, had reached No. 1 on the iTunes album chart. His 2013 mixtape, Crenshaw is currently holding down the No. 5 spot on the same chart.

As fans continued to mourn the death of Nipsey Hussle, sales of the late rapper’s music have surged 2,776 percent in the U.S., according to early tabulations from Nielsen Music.

On Sunday (March 31), the day that Nipsey Hussle died, 15,000 units of the late rapper's work compared to Saturday (March 30) when just a bit over 1,000 copies were sold, reports Billboard on Tuesday (April 2).

The breakdown: 13,000 downloads on Sunday (which is up 2,588 percent) and 2,000 copies of his albums (a 6,412 percent increase). Nipsey’s best-selling song on Sunday was his just-released single, “Racks in the Middle,” featuring Roddy Ricch and Hit-Boy, which moved 3,000 units. His top-selling album on Sunday was his Grammy-nominated album, Victory Lap.

Official totals for Nipsey’s songs and album sales will be announced in the upcoming days.

This news comes as police identified a suspect in the Nipsey Hussle's murder. On Tuesday (April 2), police released a statement naming 29-year-old Eric Holder as the suspected killer.

Around the same time this report was initially published, Los Angeles County deputies arrested Holder for the murder.
