Offset, Gunna, Lil Pump and More: New Projects This Week
Long-awaited albums from some of hip-hop’s hottest stars see the light of day this week.
Father of 4, the debut solo album from Offset is finally here. “This album means the world to me took my time with the project. Take your time listening very special stories within the songs,” the rap star said in a tweet about the project that brought his wife Cardi B to tears. Originally slated to drop towards the end of last year, the album is produced in its entirety by hitmakers Southside and Metro Boomin. Boomin and Set have linked up in the past with the producer laying the musical foundation for the “Red Room” rapper’s 2017 collab project with 21 Savage, Without Warning. J. Cole, Travis Scott, Cardi B, 21 Savage and more are on the new album.
SoundCloud’s favorite rapper, Lil Pump graduates this week with the release of his Harverd Dropout album. The LP features the singles “Racks on Racks,” “Esskeetit,” and the Kanye West-assisted “I Love It.” The self-professed most lyrical rapper in the world also teamed up with Offset, Lil Wayne, Lil Uzi Vert, 2 Chainz, YG and others throughout the 16 tracks found on the project.
After having a breakthrough moment in 2018, Gunna prepares to start his 2019 takeover with Drip or Drown 2. Highly anticipated, the new mixtape is the sequel to 2017’s Drip or Drown and is the “Drip Too Hard” rapper’s first full-length release since his collaborative project with Lil Baby called Drip Harder tore up the charts in 2018. Preceeded by singles “One Call” and “Speed It Up,” DOD 2 will be supported by a tour of the same name, which is expected to begin next month.
