Former actor/comedian Billy Cosby, 83, has served more than two years of his three to ten year sentence. This week, the Pennsylvania parole board denied his petition for release. The now disgraced star appeared at a parole hearing on May 11 last week in hopes of being released following his petition for parole. However, it didn't work out quite like he had planned.

Turns out, the Pennsylvania parole board didn't think Cosby deserved his walking papers just yet, citing he had not yet met the requirements to "develop a parole release plan." In addition, the board claims the former funnyman needed to "participate in and complete additional institutional programs." Because of his alleged lack of preparation and participation, he reportedly was given a "negative recommendation made by the department of corrections."

The board submitted a memo with details of Cosby's hearing and noted he was continuously reminded that, "if he did not participate in Sexual Violate Predator (SVP) courses, his parole would be denied."

Cosby's rep, Andrew Wyatt, reported they were not surprised by the denial and states he's not giving up hope in his quest for parole. According to Wyatt, Mr. Cosby hopes he'll be granted a new trial if the Pennsylvania State Supreme Court will overturn his conviction as he has maintained his innocence and denied all charges.

Bill Cosby has been incarcerated since September 2018 after being convicted of aggravated indecent assault of Andrea Constand in 2004 at his home.
