Register To Vote/Change Party Affiliation By LA Primary Deadline
Louisiana Secretary of State Kyle Ardoin, reminds citizens across the state that voter registration deadlines are approaching quickly. The in-person or by mail deadline to register is Wednesday, March 4, while the online deadline is Saturday, March 14. See below calendar:
Those citizens wanting to participate in the upcoming Presidential Primary on Saturday, April 4. Ardoin said it's also important to reminder this is a closed Primary Election. Meaning only registered Democrats can only vote for Democrat Presidential nominees and Republicans can only vote for a Republican.
None party voters can not vote in a Primary Election. However, you can change your voter party affiliation whenever you want as long as it is BEFORE THE DEADLINE above. So if wish to be eligible to vote in the Saturday April 4, 2020 Presidential Primary Election, but want to change your party affiliation, simply go to your Registrar of Voters Office, logon to www.la.gov or sign-in to your Louisiana Geaux Vote Mobile App and follow these instructions:
Click on the voter registration application and check to "update voter registration" to change your name, party affiliation or address. If your name is changed by a judgement of court m you are required to file a copy with the registrar of voters.
The Secretary of State’s Office says the in-person or by mail deadline to register is Wednesday, March 4, while the online deadline is Saturday, March 14.
During the presidential primary, those in the Democrat and Republican parties will be able to vote for their party nominee of choice for president. In addition Democrats will vote for their state central committee members and Republican voters will also vote on their parish executive committee selections.
According to Baton Rouge WAFB 9 TV in the twenty-four parishes below, will have local races on the April 4 ballot as well. Voters regardless of party may participate in those races.

If you have any other voter business to handle or want to register to vote in-person go to your local Registrar of Voters or any of the following locations: Office of Motor Vehicles, public assistance agencies, at public schools, colleges, and libraries, or by mail.
