I remember the day like yesterday when I heard the news of Tupac getting shot. It was a sad day not thinking that he was going to pass away, but just the fact that he had been shot again. He had been shot a few years earlier in New York and the shooter was never named. But fortunately he was able to come back and make even hotter music then before.

Unfortunately this time there was no middle finger to the cameras or accusations from Tupac on who he thought did it. This time a week later, Tupac was prounounced dead and while I never spoke with him personally or otherwise. It felt like losing a family member. I remember I had to do a party that weekend at a club call Club Paradise and Death Row had just released Toss It Up from Tupac and I ran it in the club and the reaction was wild. That was a night that I will remember, and then not long after that they released the video for I Ain't Mad at cha where he actually was killed in the video and went to heaven with so many other mega stars who had passed. It was very eerie, but that was the Tupac we all had come to love. He was so far ahead of his time with his music and thoughts.

Happy Birthday to the young homie and hopefully the movie will have a great turn out and possibly be nominated for an Oscar as we all saw Tupac develop in such a short time right in front of our eyes.
