School Bus Involved In Crash in Beauregard Parish Leaving One Dead [PHOTOS]

According to the Louisiana State Police, there was a crash that involved a School bus that killed one and injured 3 others. This unfortunate accident occurred this morning around 6:49 am on U.S. Highway 171 about 7 1/2 miles south of Deridder in Beauregard Parish.

The accident occurred when a 1997 Dodge pickup truck driven by Vernon Wayne Player of Benton, Louisiana was traveling north on U.S. 171. The truck apparently crossed the median and struck the Beauregard Parish School Bus which was driven by 52 year old Jess Mullican of Deridder.

Out of the two vehicles colliding there were 3 people in the pickup truck with one of those passengers being ejected from the truck and being pronounced dead at the scene. The victims name was Terric V Glover of Benton, there was another victim who was also ejected from the scene with serious injuries. Neither of the passengers were wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.

There are toxicology samples being obtained from both of the drivers with results pending. Please be aware as you are out and about while driving. Also keep in mind that wearing seatbelts is mandatory and the law. We want to keep all of our Louisiana family safe and are concerned about you all daily.
