We talked about this before. There are scammers whose sole purpose is to cause misery for you while reaping the benefits. You should be aware that a law enforcement agency will never ask for money or payment in any form ever. The reason why this is coming out now is because there is apparently a new scam getting a lot of reactions for the locals here in Lake Charles.

Victims in the city are receiving phone calls that are stating there is a warrant out for their arrest. The caller claims to be associated with the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office and will actually use the name of a current CPSO deputy. Once the formals have been made, the victim will be asked to purchase a prepaid card, which in turn will supposedly help to avoid the warrant and arrest.

This is a well known scam that is making its way around the city, and you are being warned of the signs to tell whether or not this is a true call. However, keep in mind that law enforcement will never ask for money or payments in any form. This is the best way to avoid causing yourself or anyone you love any financial danger.

I have absolutely no love for scammers, and we need to put a halt to this before the victims spend money that is going to place them in a financial burden going forward. If you feel like you have been called upon or have any suspicions, don't hesitate to report them.
