Louisiana’s big-screen spotlight just got a little brighter. The highly anticipated horror film Sinners, starring Michael B. Jordan in a chilling dual role, is officially headed to theaters nationwide on April 17, 2025—and much of the action was filmed right here in the Bayou State.

Dubbed “Hollywood South” for good reason, Louisiana has long been a filmmaker’s dream with its rich landscapes, historic towns, and robust tax incentives. Since the 1950s, more than 500 movies have been filmed here—including icons like A Streetcar Named Desire, Steel Magnolias, Ray, and Interview With the Vampire.

Now, horror fans are in for a scream-worthy treat with Sinners—a terrifying new flick directed by Ryan Coogler (Black Panther, Creed) and backed by Warner Bros. Pictures.

🎬 What’s “Sinners” About?
