Smalls Sliders dropped its famous "Smorange Can" in Lake Charles TODAY! They are conveniently located in the former Iberia Bank at 135 W. McNeese Street. In case you're unfamiliar, Smalls Sliders is an innovative burger brand that's shaking up the food industry in more ways than one! They specialize in cooked-to-order small cheeseburgers that pack a BIG taste.

Their restaurants are a BIG conversation piece as well because they're made out of shipping containers, dubbed "The Can," painted in a vibrant traffic-stopping color they created called Smorange. It is equipped with a streamlined drive-thru and walk-up window. Restaurateur Brandon Landry is the brainchild of the Smalls Sliders brand and is backed by industry vets 10 Point Capital and former NFL star Drew Brees.

SMALLS SLIDERS dropped its famous "Smorange Can" in Lake Charles today around 9 am, and it was quite a sight to see the crane drop the building hit the ground! Make sure you slide in and grab some delicious sliders; the new Lake Charles eatery is conveniently located in the former Iberia Bank at 135 W. McNeese Street.

Franchisees Rob Carter, a co-owner with Michael BoyerTodd Touchet, and Jonathan "JP" Perry set out to establish their burger joint as everything but ordinary, from the sliders they made to the community they serve. Carter said,

“Our attention-grabbing Smorange Can will not only stand out visually as a pillar of our community but become part of our daily routines - from celebrating our local friends and neighbors to sponsoring local events and more. We can’t wait to say ‘Thanks for Slidin’-Thru!’”

They are painting the restaurant industry Smorange and gearing up to drop their newest "Can" on 135 W McNeese Street. Even better! The folks at Smalls Sliders are already making their mark in the community by honoring two local basketball stars with the first ever Smalls Town Heroes Award.

Today's (June 5, 2024) "Can Drop" featured Smalls Sliders owners officially recognizing McNeese State University Basketball players Antavion Collum and Christian Shumate as Smalls Town Heroes for their selfless contributions to the Lake Charles community.

  • When he's not on the court, Antavion inspires the next generation of leaders by volunteering as a basketball coach at area summer camps and tournaments. He also donates his free time working with Toys for Tots and regularly supports Mid-South Food Bank.
  • Christian is also big on community service and works as a youth mentor at area summer camps. He keeps himself busy during the off-season, working with kids and donating his time and money to shop for kids in need during the holiday season. Christian also helps with Christmas shopping for underprivileged children.

Congrats to Antavion and Christian for being honored as Smalls Town Heroes! You two gentlemen deserve the recognition. Special thanks to the local (OM) operations manager, Michael Boyer, his crew, and everyone at Smalls Sliders for supporting Lake Charles student-athletes on day one!
