SOWELA To Offer First Pipe Fitting Tech Classes in August

SOWELA Tech is training its first Pipeline Technician class. The TC Energy Pipeline Academy is the first of its kind in the state.

SOWELA is offering students pursuing a career in the oil and gas field a path to get all the training they need. Of course, Louisiana’s largest workforce is in this field. The new academy will is not only the first of its kind in the entire state, but there are only three such courses in the US.

The ten-week course will include pipeline for training purposes, and the outdoor pipeline loop will help train and familiarize with real-life work environments and scenarios. Students will learn the ins and outs on a variety of things like instrumentation testing, monitoring and repair, compliance, and security.

By the time students graduate, they'll understand the flow of measurement and much more to be prepared to work in the pipeline industry.
