Suge Knight will be in a Los Angeles court on January 8, rather he wants to or not. It’s reportedly a “must-go date.”

According to AllHipHop, the former music mogul was in court on Thursday, April 17, to set a date for his murder trial.  On Friday, March 24, Knight was hospitalized due to a blood clot, then on Monday, March 27 he fell ill which kept him from appearing in court.

Knight has been in jail for two years awaiting trial for the death of Terry Carter in the alleged hit-and-run accident that also injured Cle “Bone” Sloan on the set of the “Straight Outta Compton” biopic. The Death Row Records founder maintains his innocence, alleging he feared for his life and panicked, which is what lead to him running over Carter when he was fleeing.

Even if Suge changes legal teams again, the court day will still go on. A pretrial hearing is set for May 18.
