Sunday, July 19th, Is National Ice Cream Day!

Sunday is National Ice Cream Day! I scream! You scream! We ALL scream for ICE CREAM!!!

Ice cream is my favorite-in-the-whole-wide-world sweet treat, so I plan on celebrating accordingly.

Here are a few interesting tidbits for you about the frozen concoction:

• Quaker colonists are credited with bringing the recipe to the New World with them.
• There are over 1,000 flavors of ice cream.
• President Ronald Reagan proclaimed July as National Ice Cream Month and the third Sunday in July as National Ice Cream Day in 1984.

Apparently, humans are not the only lovers of ice cream. PetSmart is giving free dog-safe ice cream samples away on Sunday at their participating locations.
