SWLA small business owners have been hit especially hard this year with a global pandemic and two hurricanes, and they need assistance more than ever.

The SWLA Economic Development Alliance and The Chamber SWLA announced they have received a $150,000 seed grant from the Sempra Energy Foundation and Cameron LNG. They will use the grant to give immediate cash assistance to struggling SWLA small business owners with 25 or fewer employees.

There will be 50 grants of $3,000 given out. You can apply at the SWLA Alliance website or apply in person at the SEED Center by McNeese. Their hours are 8:30am to 5:00pm, Monday through Friday.

Each applicant must be able to provide documentation showing the following:

  • Your business has been in business for two years
  • Your business has fewer than 25 employees
  • How your business plans to use the grant

The deadline to apply is November 30.
