According to KPLC, on Wednesday night (March 20) at around 11:30 p.m., law enforcement agencies responded to a shooting at McMillan Park on Goos Street next to the Sunlight Manor Apartment Complex on Winterhalter Street, in the area of Lake Charles immediately south of Interstate 10.

The case of the missing University of Louisiana Lafayette student Mickey Shunick will be the featured story on NBC's Dateline this Tuesday night January 29th.

A 55 year old man in Holly Hill, Florida shot his 38 year old drunken roommate after an argument over how pork chops were cooked.

In addition to the 1st homicide on Friday November 30th, LCPD issued another press release: Officers were dispatched on December 2, 2012 at 6:34 p.m., to 3214 Louisiana Avenue in reference to a shooting.

26 year old Dustin Pleasant was arrested by officers with the Lake Charles Police Department at 5400 East Broad Street, on 2nd degree murder charges.

Lake Charles Police have arrested 26 year old Justin Pleasant on 2nd degree murder, in connection with a death that happened Friday night in South Lake Charles.

Although details are sketchy at the moment, several news outlets are reporting that a gunman has shot multiple people near the Empire State Building in Manhattan this morning.

A shooting at a Sikh temple near Milwaukee left  seven dead on Sunday, including the gunman. According to police reports, a gunman arrived outside the temple at around 10 AM and shot and killed two people. Afterward,  the shooter walked inside the temple and fatally shot four others.

The University of Colorado has released a photo of the “Dark Knight Rises” shooter.  James Holmes, 24, was arrested after killing 12 and wounding several dozen others during a midnight showing of the movie.

UPDATES 8:23 a.m.: Police have identified the shooter as James Holmes, 24.  CBS News reports that when police when to Holmes's apartment, it was "booby trapped" with ammunition and chemicals.  The death toll from the attack originally reported 14 deaths, though officials have since revised that number to 12.

A Lafayette Parish grand jury indicted Brandon Scott Lavergne for the first degree murder of the still-missing Mickey Shunick.  But in a bombshell, grand jurors also found enough evidence to also charge him with the first degree murder of an Acadia Parish woman who was found dead in 1999.

It looks like robbery was the motive for the killing of an elderly Lake Charles man at the Chateau du Lac apartment complex on Mill Street Thursday.
