The Competition is heating up in SWLA as we move to Week 3 of the Snow Cone Showdown 2024!

Louisiana doesn't deal well with ice and freezing temperatures. We grind to a near halt, but we have dealt with it at least three times in the last decade.

When you're fishing you never expect your campsite to be dragged out unexpectedly onto the lake but that's exactly what happened here.

Amongst the record snowfall and plummeting temperatures, quite a few weather related rarities have appeared.

So far there are no weather related road closures in Southwest Louisiana. There are several to the north of us though.

I've lived in SWLA my whole life, and can count on one hand the number of times I've seen snow, ice-sickles, and other wintry weather wonders. Winter in SWLA usually means that during any given week you'll have 5 cold days, 1 really cold day, and 1 day warm enough to wear shorts and a tanktop...
