Teen Connections Seminar: Social Media Etiquette, Soft Skills and Office Culture, November 1 & 15
The latest "Teen Connections" seminars for local high school students will tackle establishing your brand: Social Media Etiquette, Soft Skill, and Office Culture. Both are scheduled for Thursday, November 1 and Thursday, November 15, 2018.
The seminars are for teens ages 13-18 and will take place from 5 pm - 6 pm at the Cpl Donald Ray Stevens Recreation Center, located at 1619 Cessford St.
“Teen Connection” is designed to help teenagers learn job skills, college prep, social media, interview skills, and ACT prep among others. The classes are instructed by educators, government officials, and business leaders in the community.
- Thursday, November 1: Teen Connection will tackle establishing Your Brand: Social Media Etiquette, Soft Skill, and Office Culture. What you say and do on social media can follow you long after it’s been posted or even removed from a social media site. It’s vital that teens create a positive social media brand from day one. Additionally, soft skills such as constructing basic letters and emails as well as understanding office culture are important skills required for success in today’s workplace.
- Thursday, November 15: With the December national testing date around the corner the Nov. 15, session will focus on ACT English Prep. Representatives from the Calcasieu Parish Public Library will also be on hand to help students sign up for a library card and to provide information on the many ACT Prep resources available through the library.
Keep in mind, the December sessions on December 6, and December 13, 2018, will take place at the Ward 3 Recreation Huber Park Community Center, located at 2401 4th Ave.
