This past weekend, your neighbor may have been a part of the Trump boat rally that was organized by a group of local residents and some business people in the city. When I passed by over the weekend on the way to work, you could see the boats lined up and down the lake behind the civic center.

This is why I see no immediate change coming to the area and, for that matter, the world. We live with the realization that working together is just not in the cards for some individuals around here. Even more than that, as we are in the middle of a pandemic. Many of the people in the photos I have seen were not social distancing and, of course, not wearing masks.

The election can't get here soon enough, but that is really just the icing on the cake. We have to think local with representatives who will be serving local positions and will be the voice for those of us who may have gone unheard. The boat rally was a small testament that we still have a lot of work to do, and getting out and voting can potentially be that change. I will vote. I will wear my mask and I will continue to follow the guidelines to help rid us of this dreadful disease.

This current administration has really caused a divide within the country, and many who support the administration feel the same way he does. On a local level, it should help you address who you should be spending your money with unless you support division, racism, sexism, and moving backward.

The year 2020 already sucks, and there is not much that will make it any better if things keep going like they are.
