The Game Denies Trying to Exploit Nipsey Hussle’s Legacy With New Merch, Says He Got Blessing From Nip’s Brother
The Game fires back at anyone suggesting that he's trying to exploit Nipsey Hussle's legacy for his new merch.
In a lengthy Instagram Story he posted on Thursday (Oct. 17), Game clarified his intentions with his new imprint Prolific Records after informing his followers that all of his new label's merch had sold out. The Los Angeles rapper asserted that he purposely avoided using Nipsey's likeness while marketing his new label. He also claimed that he previously obtained the blessing of Nipsey's brother, Blacc Sam.
"The use of the world 'Prolific' by myself is the only way of helping to carry on my bro's legacy," he wrote. "Any merch that has been sold has my face on it, my albums is all pictures, logos etc are related to THE GAME. Out of love for Nip, Blacc Sam and his immediate family etc. I purposely did not include any pics of Nip nor his likeness & directed all traffic to @themarathonclothing as I've done since bro's passing. I've spoken closely to 'Blacc Sam' every step of the way & have had his blessing with things I've done to help honor bro's name and continue his legacy."
Since announcing that his final album will drop via his new label earlier this week, some people have accused The Game of trying to exploit the fallen rapper's memory by using Nip's well-known face tattoo as the name of his new imprint to make money. One of those people is Nipsey's affiliate BH, who called out The Game in his own Instagram Story.
"Tha type of shit clowns niggas do @losangelesconfidential you a clown," @AllMoneyInBH wrote in his IG Story.
