The Game Claims He Once Pulled a Gun on Suge Knight
Although Suge Knight is currently in prison, the Death Row Records founder was once the most feared man in hip-hop. But one rapper who says he wasn’t scared of the rap mogul was The Game.
In an interview on Power 106 Los Angeles’ Nick Cannon Mornings radio program that aired on Wednesday (Dec. 11), the Compton rhymer recalled a run-in with Suge. Apparently, Suge didn't like what Game said about him in a song and wanted to G check him at a past Vibe Awards. Game says it was then that he pulled a gun out on Suge during the encounter.
“I wasn’t having no type of back down. I drew my gun on all of them and I held my own and from that day forward, it was nothing but respect with Suge,” said Game.
Their standoff was intense with Game claiming that he pulled a gun on Suge. Thankfully, cooler heads prevailed and no one got hurt. The Born 2 Rap artist added that he and Suge became friends after that incident.
“I throw jabs sometimes, mainly ’cause I can and everybody knows that I’m an asshole sometimes, so that’s what I do. I talked to Suge from the inside (prison) and he does have a different perspective on life and he should have a different perspective on life because where else do you go from here with being how you used to be? Suge’s gotta be 50 plus.”
Despite Suge's current legal situation, Game said that his legacy must be respected for what he brought to West Coast hip-hop. "We can’t take away what he did give, the [Tupac] albums, the Snoop albums, the whole Death Row,” he said.
