The New Orleans Saints Show Love To Damar Hamlin & Buffalo Bills
Since suffering cardiac arrest at Paycor Stadium Monday, January 2, Damar Hamlin has been fighting for his life. Thank God, the NFL had a medical staff on the sidelines. If it were not for them, the 24-year safety for the Buffalo Bills may have had a different outcome. But they were there! They knew what to do, sprung into action, and worked feverishly administering CPR.
They also had a defibrillator and used their training to restart the young football players' heart. Thank God for them! They did an amazing job. They never gave up on him and because of what they did Hamlin has a chance to live. We all have watched athletes get hurt on nationally televised games, and it is never easy to witness. However, Hamlin had stopped breathing for nine minutes after a seemingly routine tackle! His lifeless body laying on Paycor Stadium field left his teammates distraught and has shaken the millions of fans that watched it unfold on TV.
The 24-year-old athlete is in good extremely capable hands at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center. He remains heavily sedated, on a ventilator where he is being treated in the intensive care unit. His Uncle Dorrian Glen told CNN that doctors have Damar on his stomach to take pressure off of his lungs and make it easier for him to breathe. Glen said Tuesday no words could express how grateful his family is for what the first responders and hospital staff has done to save his nephew's life saying,
“He’s healing right now. As I said, they sedated him just to try to give him a better chance to continue to heal better. Just taking it day by day, and it seems like he’s trending upwards in a positive way, and thank God for that,”
