A food truck that serves gumbo is an idea that I wish I would have thought of because it makes perfect sense. As we are on the heels of fall weather and football season cranking up, pots all across SWLA will be on the stove waiting to cook that first gumbo of the season just as soon as the weather turns. Yes, we know some die-hard gumbo fans don't wait for cooler weather and you ate it all during the summer. As for the rest of us, we like to wait for the cooler weather.

It's called Gumbo Extravaganza On Da Geaux. The truck features Seafood Gumbo, Chicken Sausage Gumbo, and more. Plate lunches including Pork Chops, Fried Fish, Fried Shrimp, and even Lamb Chops. They don't stop there. The sides offered include cabbage, potato salad, cabbage, and green beans with turkey necks. Sweet lord, I think I just fell in love!

According to owner Latricia Simien, the truck had its "soft opening" to much success and will be having its grand opening on September 12. The location for the soft opening is currently at 2001 Highway 14 in Lake Charles across from the Walgreens.

LOOK: Best Beers From Every State

To find the best beer in each state and Washington D.C., Stacker analyzed January 2020 data from BeerAdvocate, a website that gathers user scores for beer in real-time. BeerAdvocate makes its determinations by compiling consumer ratings for all 50 states and Washington D.C. and applying a weighted rank to each. The weighted rank pulls the beer toward the list's average based on the number of ratings it has and aims to allow lesser-known beers to increase in rank. Only beers with at least 10 rankings to be considered; we took it a step further to only include beers with at least 100 user rankings in our gallery. Keep reading to find out what the best beer is in each of the 50 states and Washington D.C.
