Ward 3 Hosting Groundbreaking Ceremony for Indoor Pool

Lake Charles Ward 3 Recreation’s Power Centre Multi-Sports Complex is getting a natatorium, a.k.a. an indoor pool. A groundbreaking ceremony will take place Thursday, February 9, 2017 at 12 p.m. at 3210 Power Centre Parkway in Lake Charles, said a City of Lake Charles press release.

Construction on the project is slated to last 13 months, and is funded by a bond proposition passed by Ward 3 voters in 2014. The facility will be used for youth swim meets and other water programs.

"The organization’s mission is to establish, acquire, construct, improve, extend and maintain a recreational system and facilities for the benefit of all citizens," said Executive Director Kip Texada.
