"Caking," the time when we like to cuddle up close with the one we love most, see a movie with your guy/girl, or maybe flirt with that lady at the grocery store checkout.  If you’ve never heard this term or have wondered, why do people call it caking? We often refer to the good experiences in our love life as “sweet,” or maybe you call your significant other “sugar or honey.” Cakes are sweetened with sugar and make them taste pretty damn good, thus the term “caking.” That’s my best explanation and ’ll assume you get it, and now on to my point.

In the beginning of a relationship things are normally peaches and cream, but at some point you will disagree about something. Maybe you’ve been in a relationship so long that you’ve gotten bored, or maybe you’re fighting about something which in hindsight is pretty damn ridiculous. As rapper and spoken word artist Prince Ea puts it in the video above,

“It’s easier to break things than it is to fix them. Would a few rain storms make you pack your bags and leave a place that gave you pretty good sunshine year round. It seems to be human nature to put more credibility into negative emotions than positive ones. We’ve all felt it, when something bad happens we want to end it all.”

Don’t be so quick to end your relationship or friendship without equally trying to fix it, ask yourself “Have I done everything in my powers to fix the problem that exists?”

Side note: If there’s abuse in a relationship, that is not healthy and no one should subject themselves to that quality of life. Get out, and if you can’t, ask for help. Don’t be afraid to talk to someone. Abusive relationships are not okay, no matter what the reason for their actions are.
