Woman Accusing Nelly Of Rape Drops The Charges – Tha Wire
Today in Tha Wire, HipHollywood reports that the woman accusing Nelly of raping her on his tour bus plans on dropping her case. When the allegations were made public, the rapper's legal team stated they were eager to clear the star's name. They also promised to file suit against his accuser, and aggressively pursue her for making false claims. To be clear, the 21-year-old isn't dropping her case because she's admitted to lying. The female college student is allegedly stopping the investigation, because she doesn't feel safe. If not today, sometime this week she plans on meeting with authorities to officially close her case.
Her lawyer, Karen Koehler, released a statement via an "open letter" on her website to explaine why her client decided not to proceed. Long story short, she said her client was being threatened, and people were saying “horrible things” about her. She allegedly couldn't deal with the drama, and that's that. In an excerpt of her letter, the attorney wrote, “She never wanted notoriety. She never wanted a dime from that man. She wants to go back to school and to graduate. And this she cannot do if she remains hidden in her room, crying her heart out.”
As previously reported, the woman called 911 and claimed Nelly raped her without a condom in his tour bus. So far, Nelly's camp has been quiet. If they release a statement, I'll bring you the info. In the meantime, Nelly's case isn't the only one that's been dropped.
AllHipHop is reporting Boosie Badazz will not pursue any charges against his brother, Taquari Hatch. As previously reported, Taquari used a number of creative ways to slowly drain his brother's Capital One bank account. His alleged scheme came to a screeching halt after a bank rep reported he suspected fraud on the account. Taquari is accused of posing as his brother, and made the mistake of saying he was married. Boosie had already asked for an investigation, because by then he had noticed money was disappearing from the account.
Through it all, Taquari has claimed he's innocent, but the money trail led straight to him. By the time the investigation was done, authorities concluded Boosie's brother managed to drain his account of more than over $361,000. Needless to say, he won't be going to jail. TMZ reports no explanation has been offered, but all criminal charges have been dismissed. So, Taquari is free and clear!
That's about that. Boosie hasn't offered a comment on his legal matter, either. If any further details come out on any of today's stories, I will bring you the scoop.
