Woman Dies After Getting Butt Injections In A Queens Basement

Just in case you are considering getting butt injections in a hotel, someone's house or basement...DON'T DO IT! If it's not a licensed, certified or regulated hospital or clinic, you are putting your life in danger and setting yourself up for a botched job. According to the New York Daily News another woman is dead after getting an illegal butt job.

The News reports 34-year-old BET freelancer, Kelly Mayhew, and her mother traveled from Maryland to New York to receive butt injections. The problem is, the procedure went down in a “makeshift medical clinic,” in a Queens basement apartment. Mayhew's mother told police her daughter started to have problems breathing, shortly after getting silicone injected into her butt. She said they called 911 and her daughter was rushed to St. John's Episcopal Hospital were she died.

According to AllHipHop, Mayhew had received five previous injections, from the same place. She reportedly heard about the illegal Queens practitioner from a friend. For now, the fake surgeon hasn't been identified. In the meantime, sources say that person didn't live at the residence, but a nurses aid did. Neighbors said they seen women coming and going at the Queens residence for a while, but didn't have a clue what was going on .

Joan Doyle the owner of the house said, “Some of [the women] had weird butts. I knew something was going on but I couldn’t put my finger on it.”

The New York City medical examiner's office is working to find Mayhew's cause of death. So far their saying her initial autopsy was inconclusive. By the way, authorities say the person who performed the lethal injections fled the scene and has since erased her social media accounts. An investigation is ongoing.

BET spokesman Jamie Owens released a statement on behalf of the network saying, “Our heart goes out to her family and we extend our deepest sympathies for their loss.”
