YoungBoy Never Broke Again's prolific year continues with the release today (Aug. 30) of four new tracks packaged as 4Freedom.

The solo EP finds the "No Smoke" rapper serving typically sharp narratives about the paranoia and pain of street pursuits, served with melodic enthusiasm. The project's opening lines on "Drawing Symbols" set the tone.

"Drawin' symbols in the sand 'til my pain go away/Movin' on to the land where the gate closed, baby," he raps.

The closer, "We Dem," serves a particularly sharp second-person story that may be aimed at YoungBoy himself, for whom a suspended 10-year sentence for his role in a non-fatal drive-by shooting in 2016 still looms.

"What you gon' do when you fall/To all the ones left you alone/You cry when nobody around/you stressin, you ain't got no money," goes the song's hook.

The rapper's latest comes on the heels of 4Respect, a four-song project with features from Quando Rondo and fellow Baton Rouge, La. native Kevin Gates, released on Aug. 24. The "No Smoke" spitter also dropped the Master the Day of Judgment mixtape in May and his debut studio album Until Death Call My Name in April.

The hard work is paying off. YoungBoy picked up three gold plaques this month from the RIAA for "Overdose," "Genie" and "Through the Storm," as well as a platinum certification for "Outside Today." The latter is his third platinum-certified single. He's currently touring in the U.S. through October.
