Southwest Louisiana has a long list of festivals, most of them involve the celebration of food - specifically crawfish, and gumbo. There’s a new festival coming to town and it honors another taste crustacean, shrimp.  On Saturday, June 20, it's the first annual "Shrimp and Jazz Festival” from 11 a.m.-7 p.m. at the Lake Charles Civic Center Exhibition Hall. Expect great Jazz music, an assortment of shrimp dishes, and more at this festival.

Lake Charles own Grammy nominated Jazz artist Huber Mickey Smith Jr., is set to perform, as well as Tipitina Internship Band, Jarvis Jacob, Lake Charles Young Band Nation, and more.

The Shrimp and Jazz Festival promotes the cultural importance of Jazz and cuisine in our area and the thriving local community that features a unique blend of music, performance, and visual arts that unites people. -
