The autopsy results of 18-year old Michael Brown, killed by a police officer, has been released.  The manner in which he was killed by Officer Darren Wilson has sparked a national outcry for justice.  Dr. Michael Baden, a former chief medical examiner for the City of New York, flew to Missouri on Sunday at the family’s request to conduct the separate autopsy.  Dr. Badens findings are the 18-year old was shot at least 6 times- four in the arm, including twice in the head.

Dr. Baden provided a diagram to show the entry wounds, noting the six shots produced numerous wounds.  Some entered and exited several times, including one that left at least five different wounds.

The New York Times reports in the news conference Monday morning, the pathologist said there is no evidence that the teen struggled with the officer before his death.  Pointing to the diagram Dr. Baden said, “This one here looks like his head was bent downward,” indicating the wound at the very top of  18-year olds  head.

Forensics consultant Shawn Parcells, who assisted Dr. Baden with the autopsy, said the findings are consistent with witness reports that the teen may have been shot as he walked away and that he was shot again with his hands up.

Benjamin L. Crump and Daryl Parks lawyers for Brown’s family spoke on their thoughts of the autopsy findings, listen to Tha Wire below to hear what they had to say.

Michael Brown died Aug. 9 after an alleged confrontation with a police officer in a St. Louis. The police department has come under harsh criticism for refusing to clarify the circumstances of the shooting and for responding to protests with military-style operational gear.
