As you've probably heard,  Love & Hip Hop star Benzino was shot by his nephew over the weekend.  As he faces charges of attempted murder, Zino's nephew says he was acting in self defense.  Get the latest and find out went Bezino told TMZ here!

Yesterday Love & Hip Hop star Benzino gave his first interview since being shot over the weekend by his nephewAs previously reported Zino's nephew Gai Scott, was arrested shortly after the shooting and charged with attempted murder.  Bezino calls into TMZ to try an set the record straight.  Here's how it went down;

For those of you unfamiliar, prior to appearing on Love & Hip Hop Atlanta, Bezino was already a Hip Hop mogul to a certain extent.  Zino was a semi successful rapper, but an even more successful businessman being the co-founder of the The Source Magazine and currant CEO of the Hip-Hop Weekly Magazine.  However, over the weekend he almost checked out, thanks to his nephew.

Boston Globe reports Gai Scott has pled not guilty to charges of armed assault and attempted murder, Scott’s attorney Jon Ciraulo told reporters, “When the dust settles, this case will be shown to be self-defense,’’  The 36-year-old is currently being held without bail pending a hearing.

Finally, our condolences to the family and friends of DJ and music producer Frankie Knuckles.  Knuckles was known as the "Godfather of House" music and sadly died Monday (March 31) at the age of 59.  The official cause of death has not been release, but it’s being speculated that his passing was reportedly brought on by complications from Type II Diabetes.

The pioneering DJ began his career spinning soul, disco, and R&B music in New Yorks famous night club,The Warehouse.  In the late 70’s he relocated to Chicago and later opened his own club, The Power Plant in 1982.

By 1997, DJ Knuckles won a Grammy for his works and in 2004 the Windy City named a street after him, Frankie Knuckles Way.  The very next year, DJ Knuckles was inducted into the Dance Music Hall of Fame.  Music, fans and fellow DJ’s will truly miss him.
