Bun B on Donald Trump Election Win: ‘America Didn’t Elect a Man, They Elected a Brand’
The news of Donald Trump winning the 2016 Presidential election, making him the 45th President of the United States, has come as a huge shock to majority of the nation. While there have already been countless protests throughout the country in the last 24 hours, many are trying to research into how the business tycoon was able to beat out Hillary Clinton, an experienced politician.
Bun B is one of the only hip hop artists who took the time to attend rallies for the controversial Republican candidate during the primaries, as he was a field reporter for VICE. The Southern rapper not only traveled the country, seeing all of the different crowds supporting Trump, but he learned a lot about his domination of the election.
Recently stopping by 97.9 The Box for an interview, Bun shared some of the things he learned, and gave a magnificent explanation of why Trump snagged the election win. Even though majority of minorities expressed their protest of Trump, Bun claims that it was poor white men who were left out of Hillary's narrative while campaigning.
"He was going into cities where no one that famous had ever been. No, I’m being dead ass serious," the veteran rapper explained.
He claims that Hillary and her team got overly-confident with assuming that they would snag states such as Wisconsin because of the past. Unfortunately, that was where she went wrong, according to Bun.
"They had always been used to going up against people, they never had to go up against a brand," the rapper explained. "America didn’t elect a man, they elected a brand. It’s a lot easier for people to get behind a brand than it is a person."
If anyone in hip-hop can back up Trump's shocking win with facts, it's certainly Bun B. It looks like America was targeting a brand to lead the country over another experienced politician. Find out more about the election results from Bun's explanation in the video above.
