Calcasieu Parish’s Free Summer Meal Program begins on June 2.
Summer break is just around the corner, and Calcasieu Parish wants to make sure no child goes hungry while school is out. Starting Monday, June 2, the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury’s Human Services Department will be serving up free meals for kids 18 and under—no paperwork, no registration, and no hassle.

Where meals From The Summer Will Be Served

Lunch is available Monday through Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., from June 2 through July 25. However, there will be no service on June 19 (Juneteenth) or July 4 (Independence Day). Meals are first come, first served and must be eaten on-site.

Summer Food Program -  Who Is Eligible To Eat?

All kids 18 and under are welcome to come eat. No registration is needed, and no ID is required. Everyone is treated equally, regardless of race, gender, background, or ability. Just show up and enjoy a free nutritious meal.

A Message From the Summer Food Service Program

“The Summer Food Service Program plays a vital role in supporting children across our community when school is out,” said Felicia Davis, Program Coordinator. Davis continued, “Last year, we served over 22,842 breakfasts and 38,950 lunches, helping thousands of kids stay nourished and energized all summer long.”
