Bernie Sanders Meets With Cardi B, Has a “Great Conversation About the Future of America”
Cardi B finally meets Bernie Sanders.
On Monday night (July 29), the Bronx rapper sat down with Sanders to ask him some questions about what he plans to do for America if he wins the 2020 Presidential election. Bardi revealed in an Instagram post that she got to ask the Senator of Vermont several the questions that fans sent her recently. She also summed up her outstanding night with Sanders and implored all her fans to learn about the 2020 presidential candidates.
"Not me, US. Thank you Senator Bernie Sanders for sitting with me and sharing your plans on how you will change this country. A couple of weeks ago I asked my followers if you had the opportunity to have a question answered by a democratic candidate what would it be ? I got a lot of submission and selected the most popular questions to get answered. Stay tuned to see how he will fight for economic, racial, and social justice for all. Together, let’s build a movement of young people to transform this country," Cardi wrote.
After Cardi told the world about her meeting with Sanders, conservative political commentator Candace Owens felt compelled to offer up $250,000 to a political campaign of Cardi's choice if the rapper publicly debates Owens or a Black conservative of Owens' choosing. The Grammy award-winning rapper, who's currently hitting stages all around the country, didn't seem interested in the challenge, but she did humor the right-winged political commentator by suggesting that the conservative darling should simply donate all that money to charity.
"Why don’t you use that 250k for a charity that will be more helpful. I like Bernie because since the 60s he’s been fighting for equality. It looks like progression is really his passion. I still want to ask other candidates questions that my followers would like to know," Cardi replied in a tweet to Owens.
Cardi might not be primarily known for being overtly political, but it's clear she's trying to make her voice heard now.
