Update: The woman who claimed singer Cee-Lo Green drugged and sexually assaulted her several months ago could actually be lying to protect her back side.

Update: According to TMZ.com, the woman who accused "The Voice" judge Cee Lo Green of sexual assault, have been friends for quite some time. The two have been on other dates before the incident that she claimed he drugged and sexually assaulted her on. The woman is reportedly from Texas and began seeing and communicating with Green during the Super Bowl in February 2012. After that weekend she returned to Texas and Green returned to L.A., but they kept in contact over the course of several months and dated on and off, even having Green fly her to L.A. before. Basically in a nut shell, the woman may have been seeing someone back in Texas and they caught wind of it, and she did whatever she could to protect her sneaky ways

Sources connected with the woman say her relationship with Cee Lo is irrelevant, because Cee Lo is on tape allegedly apologizing and referencing MDMA (Ecstasy), saying he thought the drug would help them have an exciting time together.

November 2, - A woman claims that singer Cee-Lo Green drugged and sexually assaulted her several months ago, and it all started inside a popular sushi restaurant in Los Angeles.

According to TMZ.com, the LAPD has launched a full investigation into the victims allegations that several months against the 'The Voice' judge.

Apparently Cee Lo Green went on a date or whatever people in Hollywood call it, and the lady say's he slipped a little something extra (extacy) in her drink, and later had sex with her. Though no evidence has been shown to prove that Cee Lo is guilty of such. The accuser also told police about the alleged incident several months after it actually happened, also claiming that after one drink she remembered nothing afterward.

Now it's being reported that Cee Lo has apologized to the victim he allegedly assaulted, and that the victim recorded Green during a secret conversation where he apologized for what happened and he referred to the extacy but never directly referenced to drugging her her drink at the restaurant.

The allegations are still under investigation by LAPD detectives. There are several conflicting reports of the alleged victim consulting with lawyers before she reported the incident to police. It has been rumored that the woman also reached out to Cee Lo's management to attempt to resolve the issue quietly and demanded a sum of money. Cee Lo Green denies any wrong doing and maintains his innocence, and went on to say “Nothing ever happened there or anywhere else."
