City of Lake Charles Calls For July 4th Parade Entries
The City of Lake Charles is calling for entries into the July 4, Red White Blue & You Parade. All are welcome to join in on the fun from, businesses down to the neighborhood kids. If your interested in participating, entry forms are now being accepted for floats, marching bands, vehicles, motorcycles, bicycles and golf carts. Of course celebrating our nations independents, all parade participants are encouraged to decorate in the red, white, and blue color scheme as well
The parade route, is as follows. It will role down Ryan Street from Mill Street to Dr. Michael DeBakey Drive beginning at 6 p.m. The best part is, the fun isn't over. Head on over to the Civic Center Arcade Pavilion for the sounds of Blue Grass blues from a group called Market Blue, beginning st 6;30 p.m. Also enjoy the sounds of the Lake Charles Community Band with back-ground vocals by the Louisiana Choral Foundation and friends.
There will also be a special tribute and recognition ceremony for the men and women of the Armed Forces. Red, White, Blue and You wouldn't be complete without plenty of food vendors. Plus, face painting for the kids.
Every member of the audience will receive a complimentary flag to wave. This year’s festival t-shirt's is only $5 and was designed by noted artist Candice Alexander. Stick around for the grand finale, a fireworks. This event is open to all and it's absolutely free
