City Of Lake Charles Recreation & Parks Present, ‘Skate-Tember!’
The City of Lake Charles Recreation & Parks is turning the Civic Center into a skating rink this September. Featuring music and themes from the 70s, 80s, and 90s, the community is invited to come out and skate the night away at "Skate-Tember!"
When I saw this, I ordered my skates. I was so excited! I think this is a great idea. Every city or town needs to have at least one skating rink.
Skating, especially in big cities, is a big deal. As a matter of fact, Hipster, the '80s-style roller skating rink, is building a new adult-oriented rink in Dallas right now! I can't wait to check it out, either. This new Hipster Skating Rink with be situated at 170 Pittsburg St., at the corner of Riverfront Boulevard, and it opens this fall 2023.
So, it's excellent news that the City of Lake Charles is thinking outside of the box and doing something for the Civic Center during its idle time. So, get some skate, people! By the way, you are also encouraged to dress out to match the skate night theme. Kids are welcome but MUST be accompanied by an adult at ALL times. No drop-off.
Skating is good, clean fun. It's great for exercise and fellowship with friends in the community, young and old. Skating is for everyone. So, this is an exciting event. I hope the city will let it continue. If you feel the same, show them your interest and participate.
See you in Skate-Tember!
