Dave Chappelle & Donnell Rawlings Dropped by the Breakfast Club
Dave Chappelle is back and in full effect, and he and Donnell Rawlings dropped by The Breakfast Club to discuss Bill Cosby, Charlie Murphy, apologizing versus being non-apologetic, Tupac, and more.
The comedy genius talked about if “The Chappelle Show” would work today, the truth about his relationship with Donnell Rawlings and Neal Brennan post leaving the sketch comedy show, and he even talked about rather he has a favorite mumble rapper.
I appreciate it. I party to it. If I go out and they’re playing Migos, I’ll listen to that. But a favorite mumble rapper? I don’t know about all that. I like to be able to say the lyrics too.
He also spoke well of Charlie Murphy, going as far to credit him as a large reason of why he became successful, all because he said “I fought Rick James many times.” Charlemagne thought he said something else, but we’ll let you watch the interview for what was said.
Dave is set to kick off his New York residency at Radio City Music Hall from August 1 to August 24, marking his 30th year anniversary of stand-up. Chance the Rapper, Childish Gambino, Lil Wayne, Erykah Badu, Lauryn Hill, Yasiin Bey, and The Roots are all set to take the stage with Chappelle throughout the 14 shows.
