DMX’s First Photo After Being Released From Prison Surfaces
DMX is enjoying his first taste of freedom.
TMZ has revealed the first photo of the former Ruff Ryders artist fresh out of prison. In the picture, posted by the outlet on Friday (Jan. 25), X is hanging out with his son and fiancée while eating breakfast at a diner. DMX appears to be happy and looks to have gained a few pounds while he was away.
As we previously reported, X was released from prison this morning (Jan. 25) after serving a year in West Virginia's Gilmer Federal Correctional Facility for tax evasion. The rapper was supposed to be released on Jan. 27, but was let out early. That might be a result of the prison's tendency to release prisoners early if their initial release date falls on a weekend or legal holiday.
DMX, whose real name is Earl Simmons, still has to pay back $2.3 million in restitution with the option to use a payment plan in order to repay his debt. Last year, the 48-year-old rhymer was offered movie and book deals while he was incarcerated.
As for now, DMX will be under supervised release for three years.
