Today in Tha Wire, Shareef O’Neal has a lot to be thankful for. TMZ Sports reports he won't be hitting the court for his first year as a UCLA Bruin, after doctors discovered the up and coming basketball star, had a “serious heart issue.” I'm sure Shaunie and Shaquille O'Neal are breathing a sigh of relief knowing their son is going to be okay. The 18-year old freshman was dealt a crushing blow, when UCLA doctors revealed he couldn't play and would have to undergo a life saving operation to repair his heart.

Shareef gave the whole run-down on his health and what happens for him going forward below:

Hearing your child has a major heart condition is the last thing any parent would want to hear. However the good news is, he will have a full recovery, and be back on the court in no time. Wishing you a speedy bounceback Shareef!

In other news, singer Kelis, don't play no games when it comes to firing someone. According HotNewHipHop the former Mrs. Jones was ordered to pay her former nanny, $17K! Soraya Tascon, worked as a nanny for the songstress while on tour. It's unclear if she worked for the star prior to that, but she joined Kelis on the road to help with her then, 6 month old, and 7-year old son for rap icon Nas.

While the singers tour stopped in London, something went left between her and Tascon. Whatever it was, it was bad enough for the singer to fired her on the spot, and then leave her stranded in Europe. The Blast broke the story and reported the incident took place in June of 2016. Soraya got was making a decent paycheck working for the star, earning $750 a week to feed, bath, change the babies and pack for them for every destination. After footing the $1,200 ticket to fly back home to L.A., Tascon went straight to Labor Commission of the State of California and filed a complaint.

She won! The Labor Commissioner said it was clear that the former nanny was a victim, and refused to hear Kelis' side of the story. Instead they ordered the star to pay Tascon a whopping $17,623.73. Wow!
