Ex-Dallas Police Officer, Amber Guyger, Indicted for Murder of Botham Jean
It was on the night of September 6, 2018, when ex-Dallas Police Officer Amber Guyger, 30, shot and killed an unarmed 26-year-old Botham Jean, in his apartment, of which she claimed she mistook as her own. On Friday, November 30, 2018, Guyger was indicted on a murder charge.
Guyger was originally arrested three days after the shooting on a charge of manslaughter but was subsequently released on a $300,000 bond the same day. She was then fired by the Dallas Police Department following an Internal Affairs investigation. She reportedly posted a $200,000 bond after her arrest on today after being booked on a murder charge.
Jean was in his apartment watching football when Guyger went into the wrong apartment and shot him thinking he was a burglar.
