Don't miss the Families Helping Families of SWLA Empowerment Conference and Resource Fair Thursday, March 12 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.  It's going to take place at the Lake Charles Civic Center at 900 Lakeshore Drive, in the Contraband Room.

Come out for a full day of information and hear keynote speakers, who will highlight support and services available in SWLA for individuals with disabilities and their families. A light lunch will be served for all attendees.

Keynote Speakers:

Cindy Arceneaux - Client Advocate for the Advocacy Center, in the Supported Independent Living Advocacy Project (SILAP).  Arceneaux will Discuss Advocacy Skills and Behavior Supports for students with disabilities.

Shawn Fleming - Deputy Director, Louisiana Developmental Disabilities Council. Fleming will provide information on Act 833- Alternative Pathways for Grade Promotion and Graduation.
