Four Arrested After Stealing $13,000 With Check Cashing Scheme
Three Lake Charles residents and one Crowley resident are behind bars after police found them forging and cashing checks at numerous local businesses. Together, they allegedly scored over $13,000.
Lake Charles Police Deputy Chief Mark Kraus said the four were arrested after a two-week investigation into the payroll check cashing scheme.
Arrested were (starting clockwise from upper left corner in picture above):
- Cullen Nycole Domino, 45, of Crowley -- charged with issuing worthless checks, bank fraud and forgery. Bond was set at $50,000.
- Demetria Evette Ned, 42, of Lake Charles -- charged with bank fraud and forgery. Bond was set at $15,000.
- Melva Ann Domino, 53, of Lake Charles -- charged with issuing worthless checks, bank fraud and forgery. Bond was set at $15,000.
- Valerie Carrier, 55, of Lake Charles -- charged with issuing worthless checks, bank fraud and forgery. Bond was set at $15,000.
All four subjects have been arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center.
