Friday Night At The Movies Lake Charles – Back 2 School Bash

Summer is almost over, but SWLA students won't be heading back to school empty-handed! Calcasieu Parish School Board begins the 2024-2025 school year on Friday, August 9, but this Friday is all about enjoying the last weekend of summer!

Before the area students buckle down and head back to school, the community in Southwest Louisiana is invited to enjoy a free family night out. Join us for FRIDAY NIGHT AT THE MOVIES, at the Martin Luther King Center (2009 N. Simmons Street on Friday, August 2, 2024. It's the final Summer Community Movies series event featuring the magical story and movie presentation of, Disney's The Little Mermaid.

This magical movie night under the sea begins at 7 pm and doubles as a Back 2 School celebration, complete with backpack and school supply giveaways sponsored by Donald Thomas of Southern Touch Entertainment, city officials, and local businesses. Admission is FREE and there'll be plenty of free popcorn, sodas, pizza, hot dogs, fun jumps, games, and prizes as well.
