“Get Out” Becomes the Most Profitable Film of 2017
According to Complex, Jordan Peele has gotten a 630% return on his investment for his directorial debut Get Out. It's currently the most profitable film of 2017.
On a budget of only $4.5 million and $30 million spent on marketing, Get Out grossed $252 million worldwide, giving the "racism-horror" a gross profit of $217 million, so far.
Not bad for a film that also received a 99% from Rotten Tomatoes, something not many films have achieved. That's about as special as receiving an Academy Award, honestly.
Also, Get Out has surpassed 1999 film The Blair Witch Project, which grossed $150 million ($206 million in today's money). At the time it was the "highest-grossing debut for a writer-director based on an original screenplay" said Complex.
