Louisiana State Police Troop D issued a Traffic Advisory Thursday, September 19, 2019, in regard to mass flooding in East Texas due to Tropical Depression Imelda. The state line at I-10 Westbound in Vinton (exit 4) is closed until further notice. Motorists are going to be rerouted back onto I-10 East, towards DeQuincy to LA Hwy 27 North. The latest updates via the Troop D Facebook page is as follow:

***UPDATE*** I-10 west @ exit 4 (Vinton) and LA Hwy 12 @ LA Hwy 109 (Starks) are still closed at this time due to flooding in Texas. There is no estimated time of when the roadway will be reopened. Please visit 511la.org or DriveTexas for road closures and updates.

****UPDATE*** (Beauregard Parish) US Hwy 190 west into Texas is open.

***12:00 p.m. update*** LA Hwy 12 westbound in (Calcasieu Parish) and US Hwy 190 westbound in (Beauregard Parish) are closed due to the flooding in Texas.

***11:15 a.m. update*** LA 109 is also experiencing some water over the roadway. DOTD have placed “High Water” signs in the area. Please be aware of any water on the roadways and never drive through high water. Your life may depend on it.

As of Thursday morning the Texas Department of Transportation reported the roadway conditions were no longer safe between Beaumont and Houston, prompting the Louisiana/Texas interstate closure.

NOLA.com reports additional closures include LA Hwy 12 westbound from Starks to the state line and US 190 westbound from Merryville to the state line. Also shutdown is Texas Hwy 12 west of the Sabine River.
