It’s Collection Week For Operation Christmas Child [VIDEO]

Get your "Shoebox Gifts" together, it's National Collection Week time for Operation Christmas Child. This is an annual and charitable event sponsored by Samaritans Purse, a nondenominational evangelical Christian organization who provide spiritual and physical aide to the poor. Promoting the gospel of Jesus Christ Samaritans Purse delivers shoe boxes filled with gifts for poor children around the world, who otherwise wouldn't get anything for Christmas.

National collection week for Operation Christmas Child is going on now, November 16 - 23. So get together with your family and pull a couple of shoe boxes out of you closet and teach your kids the true meaning of Christmas, sharing the love of Christ by giving to those less fortunate. This is the easiest, most rewarding and expensive way to give. Even more precious, Samaritans Purse will enclose a bible in the native tongue for which the boxes are headed.

All you need is an average-size cardboard or plastic shoebox. You can wrap it, BUT cover the box and lid separately. Then fill your box for a girl, boy or both. For gift suggestions, get things like school supplies, hair bows, toys, color crayons and coloring books, even personal hygiene items.
