Every year millions of children around the world, get the gift of love, happiness, joy, sharing and best of all....being introduced to Jesus Christ and eternal life.  Samaritan's Purse, a nondenominational evangelical Christian organization, and get's it's name from the story in the bible of the Good Samaritan (Luke 10:30-37).  For over 40-years, they've been providing for the world's poor, victims of war and severe poverty by food, life saving medicines.  Following God’s desire for us to help those in need wherever we find them, they also spread the "Good News" of  Jesus Christ.

Samaritan's Purse is the force behind Operation Christmas Child and is changing lives one child at a time, with one very simple gift.  A 'shoe box gift'.  It's really that simple.  Get a shoe box and fill it with girl or boy toys, hair bows, combs, brushes, deodorant, games etc. For more details on how to pack a shoe box, click here.  The great thing is you can encourage others to do the same!  Below I sat down with James Groves, the SWLA area coordinator for Operation Christmas Child.  Learn more about the organization and how you can help.

Put a shoebox gift together or encourage your church, school, or civic organization to each do one and continue to inspire others to do the same.  It's a great way to give back and teach your children to help those less fortunate than them and appreciate what they have.  Then during the 3rd week in November, people are encouraged to take their shoebox to a dropoff location.

Below are the local drop-off locations for Operation Christmas Child 'shoebox gifts':
